Took the vx out to friends today and while at their house my mate asked if I'd got air-con on the car. I replied no, and he said "you've got water leaking from the front of the car. Went outside and saw water underneath f/n/s wheel area. Dipped my finger in and it tasted of antifreeze. Whipped up the front bonnet and had a look area the area of the radiator above where the water was and saw that the hose with the bleed nipple on had split down the collar of the bleed nipple     :angry2: . Contacted Martin at TGA and he stated the collar do split and would need a new hose. N problems I thought, and contacted my local Vauxhall dealer ( who I know)with the part no from this site (9198140). Fcuking £200.00p less a few pennies for the hose,  :ffs:  and non in the country. The price includes vat. At least it's not a clam off job. Anybody got any others suggestions whether I could use a non-vaux hose that is the same shape or any other solution

Immediate thought is to cut the hose at the split, you'd need to cut the collar with the bleed nipple out as well, find some pipe of the correct ID, two Jubilee clips, jobs a buttered carrot, cost £5.

All sorted................

Martin at TGA contacted Elise parts who told him I could replace both rad hoses with their silicone ones for £100.00p or one for £70.00p. Might as well have both done.  Booked in at TGA next Wednesday. Thanks for replies. Gone for black coloured hoses as I know this will be important to some of you......Hee Hee

Trip to A&E where you will be "forced" to do shots of cheapish Vodka 😁 Cheap night out --- take your own mixers if you like 😆

As a footnote to this thread........I re-contacted the vaux dealer and told him I could get the two hoses for the price of their one. he told me that vaux had discontinued the other radiator hose and there was non available............Great service !
