I have just checked my Peugeot 107 oil and it appeared slightly low so I topped it up. When I checked it again I am not sure whether O have overfilled it. If I put the dipstick in for about 5 seconds and pull it out the level looks about half way between max and min. If I put the dipstick in for about 30 seconds it looks as if I have massively overfilled it.

Anyone else had this experience.

Should I be worried?

Generally, you shouldn't need to top up oil between oil changes in a modern engine. By all means check, but check a few times with the engine hot or cold.

I used to put about half a litre in the aygo between services, as above it hardly used any oil and probably wouldn't of hurt if I'd left it.

Didn't measure it but I would say between a 1/2 litre and a litre.

I checked it again this morning and I think I am OK, it's just there is a line of oil above what looks like the level on the dipstick.

I am at work now si I have travelled around 30 miles in it, nothing drastic has happened.

"usually" (depending on sump capacity) the min-max is 1Litre... if it was only "a little low" then a litre is overfill time.

oil vaccummmmm and suck out the excess
