As above, going in Sept and plan to see the Pecos Mountain area, then the south side of the Douro Valley into Porto then return via a different route.

Any pointers for me or must see or do, that I can add into the trip.

I can do hotels but is bed and breakfast a possible or is that not available in Portugal

Many thanks

Bed and breakfast is available in almost every hotel in the douro valley. Recently one of the roads was considered the best road in the world. Google club lotus Portugal, they will certainly help you find accommodation and lots of places to visit and to get a decent meal. Contact them by email or their Facebook page.

Could try Air b n b app on the app store, i believe its really good for booking places from place to place and gets great reviews.

It might be a little off your route, but I've stayed at the parador in Ciudad Rodrigo which is a small walled town, worth a visit.....

It was a few years ago and we were on bikes so parking wasn't an issue, but I think they did have parking - you'd better check with them though. The cost is good, but in general in Spain I've found the hotels to be very reasonable once you're away from the coast or major cities.
