Hello,

I've bought a new speedometer to motorsportauctions to finish my RHD to LHD conversion. (I'm in France)

The instrument is perfect, but the tacho is still in miles and not in kilometers ! (speedo is OK)

I was thinking that it was only the instrument that was dispaying the correct unit ?

Is it my brand new instrument that is faulty, or I'm wrong ?

Thank for your help, I hope there's someone who know how this thing works...

I've just seen by looking at the pictures on motorsportauction site that the instrument I have looks more of one for a 2.2NA than a turbo.

Can it explain the problem ?

These are the 3 versions they have:

Speedster turbo: http://www.motorspor...0&listing=34509 Sticker on rear says tornado (= turbo edition) and KPH (Kilometers Per Hour) Speedster NA: http://www.motorspor...0&listing=34508 Sticker on rear says skipton (= NA 2.2 edition) and KPH (Kilometers Per Hour) VX220 NA: http://www.motorspor...0&listing=34389 Sticker on rear says skipton (= NA 2.2 edition) and MPH (Miles Per Hour) Reason the front displays both miles and km is due to usage on the continent also.

Looking to that, they send me a "speedster NA" whereas I ordered a "speedster turbo" one.

But does-it explain the odometer problem I have ?

PS : I have written "Tacho" instead of "odo" in the first post (can't edit) and in the title. Sorry that's my poor english.

I believe the signal goes through the ecu to the dash, so best get the correct dash from lotus (that matches your ecu), and then take it from there.

Is the odometer zero'd then? So it's like the car has done no miles?

Thanks for your help, the problem is resolved !

I've contacted Lotus, and it is the odometer of all the NA Speedster they sells that are faulty. They reads Miles instead of kilometers.

It's a double problem as they send me an NA instrument instead of a turbo one.

So I think they will make an exchange with mine.

For the odo, yes, when it is brand new unit, it is zero'd. So the mileage is only stored in the instrument.
