Hello

I have a problem with my vx220 turbo. I will try to make a long story short.

It started with a strange value on my wide band lambda, it was too rich.

I changed the lambda sonds but it was no different. So i think that it maby was a leak in the turbo pressure system.

So i make a pressure test. I locked the hose after the air meter and made a small hole in the locking. Took the compressor and

pressed a couple of bar (3-4bar) into the system. The charge cooler have a leak. So i fixed the charge cooler and mounted together the car. When i test drive the car the AFR was ok but i only have 1 bar in turbo pressure, before i have 1,4 bar.

I think i have broken something in the system when i put on the pressure from the compressor.

Do you have any idea of where to start troubleshooting.

best regards Fredrik

I doubt your pressure test to 3 or 4 Bar would break anything, at worst it would bust a clip off a pipe or re-burst the intercooler.

I you have no leaks from pipes then it could be (in order of approximate likelyihood/ease of checking):

1. because the wastegate actuator is not set correctly (ie it opens a bit too early).

2. possibly because your bypass valve is opening when it should not.

3. posibly because your boost solonoid is broken.

4. possibly your bypass valve solonoid is failing.

Hope that helps.

According to your writing you did not ptessuretest the intake system after you fixed the chargecooler leak. Do this to check if all leaks are gone.

Remove air filter and do a quick test.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. Now i have tested some things.

I made a new pressure test and read the pressure on the boost gauge. And i don't think i have pressed to much the last time.

This time i pressed 1,5 bar and it took rather long time to get that pressure in the system. The good thing is that there is no leak.

I also took of the blow off valve to check the membrane and it was ok.

I have also load a new map, before i use Red dot stage 3. Now i use Eds stage 3.

When i made the test drive i get full boost (1,4 bar) when i drive with full throttle from low rpm on fifth gear.

But when i accelerate through the gears i only get about 0,9 bar.

Any good advice for me?
