So I followed the guide and changed the central locking backup battery in the boot of my vxt and had to sort out the 'secret button' too as it was stuck in one position. Now am happy the battery is connected and the switch is working when pressed but I am not hearing any kind of click (which from what I have read I should hear) when I press the button even in my garage with the door closed.... I am assuming that the button activates a relay, and that could be the problem, could anybody point me in the direction of the correct relay or offer any other advice on checking if it is working? Thanks

Are you pushing the fob at the same time? fairly sure you need to do both.

The button should activate a relay under the dash. There are windscreen wiper,, flasher and backup batterie under there.

Thank you, that looks like the next logical thing to check. Just to double check before I take the faceplates and dashboard off we are talking about it being located underneath the dash itself?

Great, would say that makes it a bit easier to access but then it involves getting in the footwell of a VX.... Thanks again
