I am a new member of a certain age and am about to purchase an NA VX220 i want to have a final fling before old age strikes, I am concerned about spares availability particularly service items I live in Scotland and there is only 1 Vauxhall dealer listed that deals with vx220 service/parts any advice would be gratefully received

Welcome.

With the engine being an astra/vectra engine, most service items are no problem.

The only current issue are the gaskets for the oil filtering housing, which is vx220 specific.

Aftermarket versions of these are available, but not sure how a common vauxhall garage would deal with that.

Nobody uses main dealers any more, do they? Specialists seem to be the way to go.

If the 1944 bit of your name is your DOB, then I have bad news on the "...before old age..." bit of your statement. :P

Where about in Scotland? Welcome! Wouldn't bother with Vauxhall dealers for parts, the one in Stirling tried to bum me 900 for new discs, not even fitted!

Headlights and rear lights are available and still in production. They are just a tad expensive!

Go for it Mike, best decision you will ever make. Lots of aftermarket suppliers for most parts - it is a vauxhall after all.
