My 1" EP roll bar has a terrible creak / squeak so I assume I need to ream the bushes.  Is it just as simple as clamping it up and running a 25mm reamer through it?

Is this the first time you have thoroughly reamed a bush that's been round the block a few times?

Depends whether you want a creak or rattle?

Just done mine. Machine the joint faces a few thou' (to reduce the size of the hole) clamp together and then use a 1" reamer. (1" is 25.4mm) or size to suit the actual bar size. Dave

Perfect, exactly what I was thinking.  Thanks Dave.

Can I just say that this thread had some potential until Dave H stepped in and gave a sensible, useful answer.

This is all assuming that FLD has the right tools and know how for a good reaming?

I have a large expanding reamer suitable for enlarging such holes!

Could they be machined up out of nylon or would it be to harsh!

Yeah, it'd be easy enough but I've always found nylon creeps and bushes don't last long. I was planning on getting some poly ones from mbr as a proper fix.

Just engaged brain (albeit briefly) and I seem to remember lotus making some nylon ones that fixed on to a longer wishbone bolt. Will have to check.

That was std on s1 elise and I think early vx/s2. Flexes lots. Thats why they changed to the full clamp type.

I've had enough of mine.  Removed the caps and cleaned and lubricated the bushes, one small journey* and it's worse than ever.  Is the only way to shut these bushes up to take them to an engineer and ream to 25.4?  What size are they delivered?

I'm done with the hard bushes that squeek or rattle on my EP 7/8th bar, but the poly bushes that came with the MBR 1" bar are silent. So getting some poly 7/8th bushes now too.
