The 68mm works fine but gives no extra power over the 65mm and also felt a little less responsive in my application.

Cheers; does the 65mm require any adapting to fit? At least with the software, if i do step up to the 68mm (for SCing) then it is only a tweak of parameters.

straight swap with a 58mm TB and a very good mod - but you will need the Dutch SW to make it work thumbsup

Obdtuner 1.3 only supports 58 and 65mm TB.

Just had a look at obdtuner.com. I'll be good with my laptop I reckon.

True, they aren't being done whilst driving though (if my memories of live mapping are correct). I think I'll get hold of a 65mm TB before I go for the software. I need to start searching!

In my opinion the real gain is in the 2.4 manifold, and not so much in the 65mm TB.

I think Peter go about an extra 4-5 Bhp with the 65mm TB with similar mods to yours. The manifold and remap are what give the most power but it is nice to Finnish it off with the correct TB. You can always sell it on with the manifold if you go SC at a later date 👍

Or SC it with the 65mm, in case you can't find an M62 with the 68mm TB.

56mm tb flows enough for 400+ on a turbo. Stick with original.

Don't think you can compare N/A to turbo it dose flow better on a modified 2.2 and was oem on the 2.4 which produces 170-180 Bhp.

If this isn't a stupid question... Is this NA only?

No, it also works on supercharged and turbocharged converted Z22SE (NA) engines.

The software ONLY works specifically with the ecu for that specific engine type.

So version 1.3 for NA engines, and it´s currently at version 2.7.7 for SC and turbocharged engines.

Just so Smiley dosn't confuse people all versions of the OBD Tuner work with an N/A engine. I use the latest version of version 2 and will convert to version 3 when available. The Speed Density mode of version 2 works well with N/A as well.

I've got hold of a 65mm throttle body from the States (well, bought it anyway) so I'm in! I'll get the cash all in one account then speak to Peter to arrange to have the ECU flashed.
