NOTE: This group buy is not endorsed by VX220.org. Anyone partaking in this group buy is responsible for checking the specifications for themselves, I hold no responsibility for fitment issues or quality of the goods. The contract will be between the purchaser and rarerims.co.uk

I have enquired with Rota and they are able to offer a Group Buy for the VX220.

The conditions of the group buy are that all SETS of wheels are identical.

Same style, same sizes, same offsets, same colour.

There MUST be a MINIMUM of 5 sets ordered for the group buy to go ahead.

I have requested the wheels made in the same size and specifications as ATS DTCs (17x7.5 inch front and 17x9 rear).

For the benefit of those who are new to the forum the front wheels WILL rub on the front arch on full lock (leading edge of the cill).

There are three wheel styles they are able to offer. We must all agree on ONE of the styles. THE MOST POPULAR STYLE AND WHEEL COLOUR WILL BE THE ONE THAT IS CHOSEN FOR THIS GROUP BUY.

Please visit the website to view the colour options available.

To pre-empt the queries that are likely to come from the forum I have got Rota to confirm the following:

1. Are they are available in the following sizes and widths and will not require spigot rings

2 x Fronts 7.5 x 17 ET20 PCD 5x110 Centre bore 65.1

2 x Rear 9 x 17 ET30 PCD 5x110 Centre bore 65.1

We can indeed make them so they do not require spigot rings.
2. Do they come with wheel bolts?

They will come with a complete fitting kit (Bolts and Caps)
3. Can you post overseas?

We can ship overseas with the exception of the US
4. How much do they weigh?

The wheels vary in weight between designs and size, but they would be around 9.5 - 10.5 kg's
5. From point of order (and everyone paying) how long will they take to be made/delivered?

We would be looking at 12 weeks to have them made from order, we would require a 10% deposit from each person in the group buy and then the remainder to be paid upon dispatch.

6. What happens if one gets damaged and a replacement is required, will you be able to produce one?

With regards to 1 being damaged, once the mold is made for the wheels, we can get replacements made, but they would take around 8 weeks to come.
7. and finally! What is the total cost for a set in the above dimensions delivered to a UK mainland address based on;

The RRP price on the 17x7.5's is £127.08 and the RRP on the 17x9's is £143.75, both prices are excluding VAT. So roughly £650/set incl VAT
5 sets ordered 15% discount - £460.41 excl VAT + delivery (£552.50 incl VAT)

10 sets ordered 20% discount - £433.33 excl VAT + delivery (519.99 incl VAT)

Please express your interest below by putting your name under the wheel style you would like, followed by your preferred colour.

Is there a decent selection of tyres in these sizes? What would be the ideal width to fit front and rear?

I'm a bit worried about rubbing especially after reading up on some issues related to the ATS wheels.

Fronts:

205/45/17 or 215/45/17

Rear:

235/40/17 or 245/40/17

From what i've read on here the 205 Front and 235 Rear is the safe option. Going with 215 Front and 245 Rear all depends on tyre wall design, clam seating and wheel arch aswell as ride height (im sure this will affect 205, 235 option too) if its not standard height.

Is there a decent selection of tyres in these sizes? What would be the ideal width to fit front and rear?

Missed opportunity to get something better sized for the rear, if you ask me. :(

9" wide wheels just look stupid on a standard bodied car. 8" with a decent offset to push the wheels out slightly further would be much better and properly fill the arches, rather than make it look like they don't fit properly (like the ATS') and give you potential tyre->arch or tyre->damper fouling issues. They'd still accept any tyre width you'd reasonably want to run on the VX, increase track width and probably also be lighter.

P.S. Titan's look quite nice. Drift's belong on slammed Ricers with big dump valves and A pillar gauge pods. :D

Nothing has been cast in stone yet Matt.

If there is a demand for a different width then it should be able to be accommodated thumbsup

I'm liking the idea of a different offset for the rears but not technical enough to sort it 😡
