Hi

I bought my SC kit almost a year ago and only really looked at it last week. It turned out I have the ZZP modular pulley system and I'm now wondering if the only way to get a new pulley is to order it from ZZP in the states? The pulleys aren't that expensive but with customs and shipping it almost adds 100% to the price and that's moeny I'd rather spend on something else :)

Any ideas?

ZZP tends to put silly value on their freight letter when shipping abroad, so import charges are not that hard.

(well, that´s my experience so far. You may want to double check with them)

In the end the M62 is a US only released supercharger, so parts will mostly always have to come from there.

Here you go this is the guy, be sure to tell him it's for a zzp modular hub as they are different to other ones.

Thanks!

But the ones from ZZP are $59US. How come he wants 95 for his?

Custom made, you can choose any size you want and also choose the finish.

plus that price is including the hub too, for just a pulley it would be a lot less.

Seems smoothflow and Nherbst454 are quite well mathced regarding price etc. Can't find anything about the ZZP MPS on Nherbst but I assume he can make those as well?!

So who do I chose (and why) and what size pulley do I want ?

My charger came with a 2.8 pulley  (bought used) and I'm thinking I'll buy the 3.1.

That makes my decision so much easier :)

I'm planning to make the first iteration quite simple. No front rad, just a smaller one in the right ear. Pretty much bolt the SC on and make sure it works properly. Later on I'm thinking WI, ported head, cams, front rad(s), rods/pistons etc. But that will take a couple of years. Maybe I should start a build thread to have a place to put all my questions....

And to answer your question, it would be nice to get some 240 hp to begin with. My plan is to use Dutch SW and map it using E85.

My charger came with a 2.8 pulley  (bought used) and I'm thinking I'll buy the 3.1.

As your engine is stock, you need to be near the 260 bhp max.

That is already reached with he 3.35 (standard M62) pulley. The 3.1 could break your current engine.

Really? Didn't think one could get that much with standard pulley. Aren't the cobalt ss just 200hp with this setup? If I buy two of them right away, what size shall I get for the smaller one. It's there a natural limit for how much the M62 can cope with? I'm now thinking 3.3 + 3.1. Could that be right? I really appreciate all the help I can get from you guys that have tried all the stuff I'm now thinking about. Thanks :-)

The cobalt does 200hp at 5600rpm. :glare:

I assume you want to go all the way up to 7000 without blowing it up?

The only way to limit the M62 is the size of the pulley, and the rpm cutoff you will set in obdtuner.

Like I said, your 3.3 should be safe for the standard engine.

As for smaller, it depends on how much you want from your engine once enforced.

300bhp is around a 2.9 pulley, but I don´t have my notes with`me, so wait for confirmation.

Don't you need cams to achieve 300

Aha, I see. Did not know that :)

I was actually thinking about restricting the max rpm to something like 6000 just to be on the safe side before I open the engine up which, according to my long term plan, will be winter 2017-2018.

Summer will be about attending as many track days as possible. Next winter will be more about handling, refurbing and upgrading all four corners.

Since I already have the 2.8, it sounds like a good idea to get a 3.3 and a 3.1 for future upgrades?

We'll see if I ever get to use the 2.8 :)
