Hi I thought it would be good to have a thread about tips and tricks how to

work on our VXs both repairing and modyfing.

And I´m planning to do both.

First I have the famous cracks on the sill, these cracks I was planning drill a hole in the end f the cracks and use some kind

of glue and have a Stainless sillcover over, maybe a carbon one.

Is glue a good idea? Anyone recommend any good glu for this?

Then I have a crack on the underside in front of my rear right Wheel, here I was thinking of do something similar as above

plus take small sheet of aluminum and pop rivet this on the inside together with gluing.

I supose the glue should be able  grind and paint over if repainting the car in the future.

At some places places I have small cracks that separates layers it seems, how do I stop this, glue again?

I was thinking of adding some GF material to build up a new shape, how do I best bind this new mterial with the old

painted Surface. Using alcohol to Clean and take a ruff sand paper, do I have to go through the paint?

Or must I use some fasteners or something?

Then threaded nuts in GF , for wings mounts, corner spiltter etc. What do you recommend?

I´ve thought about rivnuts, but havent felt comfortable with these since they are clamping around the GF

and it feels like a big risk for more cracks. I found this nut (see below) a few Days ago which seems to b able to handle this

and somemore glue on the bacside.  :-)
