It's been a fun 5 months but it's time to admit that I can't afford this car!

A real shame but it's a tick in the box, a few of us are envious of!

No costs for me at all - thanks to the fact that I bought it from Audi with a full warranty. The mag ride shocks had to be replaced within a few weeks of taking delivery but Audi got on with it without much complaint. Whilst they were doing that they discovered a worn ball joint in the rear suspension but because they changed the configuration between the V8 and the V10, they couldn't just swap out that part, so I had a whole new suspension instead :D In all honesty, this car has been a blast! I've absolutely loved it. Taking it to Germany and driving on the autobahn was a highlight, it suddenly made so much sense! The acceleration is unlike anything I've ever driven and yet it is perfectly usable (I drive it to work every Friday). The only real niggle is that it's hard to park. You can't use full lock, which makes tight spaces a challenge.

Yeah, as above its a box I'd like to tick at some point. So is it just the fear of future repair bills?

No, the money I spent on this was earmarked for something else. I now need to do the right thing!

Just a question, given that you're a VX enthusiast.

Would you be interested in a VXT in p/x?

Yep - it's one of the most financially irresponsible things I've ever done (I'm an accountant!) but also one of the most memorable :)

Absolutely - which is why I (like most other owners) have lavished £'000s on the VX without regret. The R8 is just a step too far for now.

Good on you!

I procrastinated over whether to go and get an extra bag of pick and mix once. By the time I had made my mind up, Woolworths was boarded up. Another dream in tatters. :(

Seize the day!

Thought you want to sell the R8, aren't you supposed to big if up? It's not like going on holiday & realising you've gone to the wrong resort?😉
