Hi, I guess you're new here. Seems like that car has already been quite a project for the last owner. Can I ask why you want to lower it more?

Hi, I guess you're new here. Seems like that car has already been quite a project for the last owner. Can I ask why you want to lower it more?

i just felt that with the larger wheels it sort of looks like it sits high sometimes so wanted to get it looking more sleek and more factory looking.

i am fairly new back to vx220s, i had one vx220 back in 2006-7 i think it was that looked like this after i repaired it from being a cat d

Posted Image

this was then sold due to funding a pub i was going into

few years letter after pub was running ok i bought this, which maybe known on here

Posted Image

which i repaired

Posted Image

then modified and changed colour

Posted Image

Posted Image

you may know this car from the forum also

i then sold that car to help fund buying a house, thats was a few years ago now

last year i bought a black vx220 again as a project with head gasket failue, so it had a new engine put in and various other bits and a respray and now looks like this, i will have to sell this once new project is done

Posted Image

so there is abit about my history with vx220s,

it then turned out that both front arches were fitted at slighly different height, not sure y but it was quite obvious, so these had to come off, they were not easy to get off to distroyed to remove so new arches were ordered

before

Posted Image

old ones off

Posted Image

arch cut back and rubbed down for beta adheasion

Posted Image

new arch on

Posted Image

new arches were then fitted to the rear also

you may have noticed a air duct below the turbo ears, this was just sort of stuck on, but looked bit silly sometimes so ground edges down

Posted Image

glassed it in then started to smooth it into bodywork

Posted Image

like so

Posted Image

few other parts of rear clam getting worked on also

Posted Image

Posted Image

i was planning to only take the gearbox out but few things on the engine needed checking so engine out also

Posted Image

front clam came off, nice and easily which was nice suprise, plus everything looked good underneath

more bodyworking was done now, arches getting close to shape i wanted

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

i was also not sure if to keep with the spoiler, change it or go without so smoothed the holes up

then for a really small detail that i think changed the look of the car, i decided to take a angle grinder and cut in lines to match where the stock vx220 has i guess panel lines, so this was done, i tried to copy the angle of a standard vx to a point

Posted Image

Posted Image

this also makes it so rear clam can be removed if need be

Posted Image

Posted Image

interior came out
