My Wheels I bought didn´t fit over my brake caliper so I´m looking into other options.

So now I´m looking at TDs 1.2 16*7 front which are a bit narrow and I´m thinking about ET 15

with R888 225/45 16 at 110mm ride height front and  1.5-2 deg negative camber.

Will it fit?

Anyone having something similar to  compare with?

And why I´m thinking of ET 15 is because I´m thinking of modify the Wheels later on and at 20mm or so

and then I won´t need so much spacer disc.

Why I´m asking, I want to know what peaople tested and my cars comlete suspension is taken apart.

Thanks, Per

205/50-16" with TD's. If I remember correct the ride height is 118mm and 2.2° camber.

Here's mine with 7x16 and 205/50 in front (225/45-17 back). Not sure about ET but they are made for the Speedster so probably 20 (?). I have NO idea what so ever avout ride height.

You might have seen it at Kinnekulle last fall. You were there with OSC if I'm not mistaken

What do you Think Tonie.

if you measure from the side of the tire to out whel arc and look from above, how many mm do you have.

Do you have 10-15mm extra space?

I have 18" x 245mm (ET14) with 30% profile tyres and -0.5 degrees negative camber on the front of mine. I get bad rubbage at both left/right near full lock. It is a problem that you can just "steer" around IMO unless you do a lot of parking and town driving.

Thanks for the input Nev, but this is just a "parking" problem? Do you feel any negative handling problems with it? The idé is that I might widen the wheels in the future and then I wont need as much spacer. And I want a wide foot print. Br, Per

It's never a problem when driving as the steering input is never severe like parking (ie once over 30 #mph you never turn full lockon unless you are a lunatic!). You may need to make some adjustments to the plastic wheel arch liners, as mine are worn through in several places where the wheels have rubbed over the years. To me this is insignificant but some might be worried by such minor things.

I was not just thinking about wheel touchen the arcs. I was more thinking of if you get different behaviour when cornering or the car feeling nervouse because of low ET in the front or strange tire wear? Br , Per

My front feels different to a normal VX, it's hard to express really. It feels heavier to me, and less responsive to very rapid angle changes that only occur in tight slalom situations (has happened to me on a very tight track 1 time for me so far). On the positive side I have more grip/security, everyone who has driven it has said so. My centre of turn radius is no longer near the centre line of the tire and I think this makes the steering quite a lot more twitchy. It road-rails more on motorway lorry tyre depressions a lot more.

Et 15 is not that much different from std. Couldn't it be that your heavier wheels are the most different in steering feel, less responsive? Ok but its worth trying then.

Yes my floating mass on the front wheels has increased a lot, something like +7.5 Kg per corner (from memory).

It's a shame you can't "pop over" and drive it, that way you'd understand better. Also, I forget now how a standard VX220 feels, hardly anyone has a standard car to drive any more !

I run the lightest tyre / wheel combo that I can , with a 205/45/16 tyre, from memory my front is ET20 without any rubbing.
