I thought it was absolutely shite as did every driver and team I heard interviewed after it. Exactly as everybody apart from Bernie forecast. Needs binning ASAP. ETA: Still, on the bright side, looks like you can forget about the F1 threads again for another year Pete. The Fiat team are just going to be first of the losers again.

Just watched the replay In fact there is still 3 mins and 40 secs left But nothing is happening Agree with techie that's shite

Only way this setup can work is if all of the teams have a fixed number of tyres available for the race proper and tyres used in quali are treated entirely separately. Otherwise any team that doesn't think it can realistically challenge for the front row are just going to call it a day after the first few minutes and save a set of unused tyres for the race.

Yep agree with that But also think it runs a bit deeper than just the save tyres thing The teams didn't predict when they needed to be out and in some situations didn't have time to go back out after pit stop Very strange and has added nothing but negativity

Yep, utter garbage. The quicker they go back to last seasons format the better.

Come on C4 ....poor picture quality. And yep I think the New Q was pants. Another eg of if it ain't broke fix it. Bin it. Looking forward to another early wake up to see if the red team have the race pace. Hopefully Ham and Rosb will still be arguing over the same bit of Tarmac.

This new qualifying system is rubbish.  Imagine paying to watch and then the last few minutes, when it should be fantastic, nothing.  Go back to prehistory when the best time in the last practice session was what counted and you knew that the Jim Clarks of this world would wait until the last few minutes and then go out and put in an absolute scorcher, that was worth waiting for, but this is a complete waste of time!
