My retrim, locally, cost £550 for both seats being totally recovered in (two colours of) leather, door shoulder trims to match and the dash covered in Alcantara. Still going strong after 9 years. Shame the guy has retired now as I've got another set of seats that need doing.

The seats aren't actually complicated to do. Certainly not in the same league as modern Recaro's for example.

Not sure if still doing them but frogman did mine and a fantastic job done. Sure cut outs, alcantara, full retrim was £600 Going bk a fair few years now but that with some quality foam was one of the best mods to my old vx and strangely one of the last mods lol DG

My local trimmer is £350 for both seats. That is in cloth though, I never went ahead in the end as I sold the car but his work looks good. Trim-star Manningtree, Essex.

Not midlands but you should be able to find cheaper, especially if you don't like leather.. adds more weight you know ;)

I bought a Probax shell last year with the same intention but trim costs put me off and I sold on. The only way I could see of doing it cheaper is to fit pads rather than a full trim, a bit like the seat on the Elise club racer. Yvan get the courbeau cushion set which will be close fit according to them (when I asked) or get a reverie style set of pads made out of memory foam. Wouldn't cost much.

I too have used steve at classic car services top bloke and his workmanship is top quality. Seeing as your fairly local your more than welcome to view my seats / interior. I don't live in Leicester anymore I live between Retford and Lincoln. I can't change my profile for some reason. http://www.vx220.org...immed-interior/

If someone wants to donate some cheap seats to me I'll have a go and see if I can do it, I'm pretty good with my sowing machine and it's hardcore enough for leather? Any takers, I fancy trying the new lf1 design seats in the exige v6. Surely it can't be that hard?
