I changed the gearbox on my car for a 4.17 version with an lsd. At the same time I fitted a new clutch kit. An oem 2.2. There was nothing wrong with the old one, it was a preventative measure. Since putting the car back on the road, the clutch is slipping slightly in 4th and 5th. It seemed to be improving, but before I could test it further, my gearbox failed. Can't select 1st or 2nd. I plan on dropping the box next week to fix that issue. I think I should change the clutch while I'm at it. I have a forged engine built, but have no immediate plans to drop it in, but it would be nice to know the clutch would be able. I've read on here that the turbo shares the same clutch as the 2.2. A popular upgrade on the Astra GSi z20let is to fit a calibra turbo clutch, c20let. Has anyone here used one? I do a good few trackdays, and wouldn't have a Problem running a paddle clutch, but don't want to waste money if it's not needed.

That is a C20LET clutch with the numbers ground off, C20LET clutch costs maybe £120 from Euros (or try carparts4less too, same company but usually have offers on).

I can supply you with a Helix paddle if needed but I'd stick with the C20 clutch personally :)

Standard clutch is more than fine for SC. Even with lots of TDs. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

does the new clutch need to bed in - mine (standard clutch on SC) slipped for the first 1000 miles, but is fine now. (I had a new flywheel - so assume that also requires some bedding in?)

As above, just get a decent quality C20LET unit (I'm using a LuK and seems to be totally fine on my stage 3 or something car)..

Dropped out the gearbox last night. Pig of a job. Not risking a slipping clutch. Have a c20let type on order. Thanks for the advice. Can't wait to get this car back on the road!!!!!!!

Just a small update to this thread. I fitted an LUK c20let clutch disc and pressure plate. Have done about 600 miles on it, including a Trackday and it has performed great with no sign of slipping. Glad I done it.

I had fitted a new slave with the first clutch a week or two earlier. I've done a Trackday since and it's working fine with the c20let disc and pressure plate.
