For what it's worth, here are the initial results of my annual search for the best policy / price. All based upon the following:
Age 51
Sole driver
Civil Servant
Clean licence - held for 33 years
1 non-fault claim in the last 5 years which was fully recovered from third party
VX Turbo
5,000 limited miles
Garaged at home
Social Domestic and Pleasure use only
10 years NCB - protected
Mods declared (Speedline Corse wheels, uprated 4-channel ABS, Milltek back box)
£250 total excess
No trackday cover required
Agreed value (if available)
CCI - £500 (includes trackday cover and 6,000 miles)
1Answer - £371 (includes trackday cover and 6,000 miles). But NCB not retained or accumulated.
Chris Knott - £338 (includes agreed value, or £300 without agreed value)
Adrian Flux - £321 (includes breakdown cover and personal accident cover, or £250 without breakdown or personal accident)
Henderson Taylor - £311 (includes trackday cover and 6,000 miles)
ClassicLine - £251 (includes full European Breakdown cover and agreed value)
I'm already with ClassicLine and so far it looks like I'll be staying with them. Been through price comprison sites too but once you add on breakdown and legal protection they don't come close to ClassicLine.
I've got another 3 weeks before I have to renew so going to continue to hunt and if I find anything better / cheaper I'll update the thread.
Any other suggestions of companies / brokers to approach appreciated.
