I have had a number of enquiries about the production of brake cooling kits. I can now make these for the following internal diameters:

Std Vauxhall discs of 157mm diameter

EP Bells of 180mm diameter

AP racing Bells of 200mm diameter.

Please email me your orders.

I only sell complete kits and the price is £150 plus postage.

Thanks,

Paul Darby

Would you make to different size discs as well? I have 308mm EBC Ultimax, they are (according to EBC) Ø182mm.

Thanks,

Andreas

Is the opening to the veins on the inside of the disc or the outside? I had a look around and the only 308's i could find which had the vein opening on the inside were very expensive. Obviously any openings on the outside of the disc, ie wheel side isnt going to benefit from these brake cooling mods.

Correct, hence why you need discs which have the vein opening on the inside not the outside.

Honestly I haven't checked if the vanes are open all the way from the center and out, I was just assuming that to be true. Are you saying that the vanes doesn't go all the way through? If that's the case, they're ridiculous! I thought I upgraded my the discs! :/

They will go all the way throigh, its just whether of not they are open from the outside of the disc or inside of the disc.

Have actually never thought about this before. Now I realize that it would obviously make a difference in cooling effect. Any examples of discs (for our cars) that have the opening on the inside?

Ive had drilled discs for years and done many trackdays with no cracking between the holes, and im not one to go easy on the brakes either. Infact ive had ebc discs on mine for a couple years now and even they have not cracked and they were cheap. you could look at saab discs.

Pretty sure you will find only those ones at seriously lotus or possibly Tesla discs have the vents on the inside, all the cheap ones, from the GM range are vented from outside on 308mm discs, this includes any aftermarket discs such as EBC or alike which are just patern copies. Even the seriously lotus ones I would check into before buying as they are not cheap for a one piece disc. Lost count of the times I have mentioned this to people, 1st reaction is "no mine are vented from inside" then they go check ;)

Do you find this problem only for 308mm discs? Asking, as I'm still not sure what you mean exactly, simply I see no reason vents wouldn't be opened on both sides of ANY vented disc, on both outer and inner diameter of disc. Otherwise air couldn't get through, effectively they would be not vented.  Prior to your remark my understanding was all vented disc are designed to take air from the inside (bell area) and vent it out. A quick google check on vx220 generic options confirms it (example http://i17.ebayimg.c...6/17/c512_1.JPG - forum doesn't allow to post it as a photo) but I'll still check my past disc iterations.
