this is mine, not sure if its a MK1. will it need this £40 addition?

Thats a MK2.6 or later - has an encapsulated PWM (box in the top left in that photo) which has lower risk of failure, however is unlikely to be as durable as a bowden cable assembly.

Would this replace the existing valve?  I think mine has started leaking again :(

I'll be going off the poll numbers, so if you haven't voted and you need one then it's likely I won't have enough.

I tried to vote and it said I already had even though I hadn't so don't know if my vote has been counted or not. Maybe a list would be a good idea? Of and you have PM re: potentiometer

I bought a second hand (but unfitted) 2.5 I think. All ok but heat knob doesn't turn all the way - and yes car gets hot in summer. Would one of these help my problem? If so, then count me in.

Think mines broke too - heater always on so I'm in. Can you let me know if there is a way to confirm if the valve is dead? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'll take one. I have an early model of your heater apparently but assume this will fit them all?

They'll fit on all but gen. 1 models, however all have been replaced with gen 2.

so to confirm - all cars now have gen 2 fitted and there are no gen1 around?  I don't know which one I have as the previous owner fitted it.

All Gen 1 were replaced with Gen 2, however this doesn't mean that they were all fitted.

Just voted yes, pm'd you about a month ago Tom as my 2.6 blows very hot constantly, but only got the car going again yesterday due to faulty battery & bad back! So haven't tried the checks you suggested yet.

Just checking: - will all heaters fail eventually? - will there be other batches in the future? (my heater is still okay at the moment)
