Didn't see this first time round... I'd take one of the top designs.

Don't worry guys, it's not your fault ;) Kinda no response in the German forums. I'll have that thing made anyway, because I put way too much work in it to let it die. Just have to get married first (in 3 weeks) and after returning from honeymoon I'll go and have the new form milled to get the first new prototype moulded.

Always thought this would look better than the ali ones.... and it does. Good work and a lot more OEM. ....but I wouldn't want it in gloss.  I would need to be matt with a slight stipple/textured finish, then I'd be very interested.

Could you get a finish like that with a respray from a rattle cans worth of plasti dip?

Heat for plasti dip might be the challenge though, or stones in that position.

You can sand blast the vacuum former to get a textured effect.

Sorry for not replying for some time... I have to admit that I couldn't find the time to work on. But I plan to do so in October. There are different textured ABS sheets for the vaccum forming, the supplier showed me one which looks like some dashboards => you know, that kind of leather imitate. But, of course, any vacuum formed ABS diffuser can be resprayed. I don't think that somebody really wants a different color than black, though, since you'll lose the OEM effect then.

Just an update: Due to heavy no-time-for-anything nothing much happened until November. Then I had to wait for 6 weeks (!) now to get the latest quote from the company who would produce these parts. Yesterday they finally told me a new price for the moulds which I hoped to be a bit cheaper. Anyway, it seems that these guys are dumped with work and really busy, so although I will order the first mold for a new prototype, I guess it will again take a couple of weeks for them to produce it. Just wanted to say that this project is still going on, though with a heavy delay.
