If I remember correctly it was brilliant yellow not a lightning yellow... Lightning yellow only 100 made comes with black NA wheels, black windscreen surround and hardtop. Plus the all important plaque with number on the dash plate. Its a different shade of yellow paint too.

sorry harry but thats rubbish, having see how worn the guides etc get on MANY engines of all different milages its really stupid imo to not have chains done, especially with the age of the plastic type parts installed

you cant just rely on the death rattle, then if it goes you need a new engine fitted and good second hand engines are VERY hard to get these days.

Joe, we agree,  then it all depends.... chinky chinky

..or listening to those that know far more than I do, would you automatically change the chains on a 14 year old car, even though its only done 40k....as in my case....or what would need to show any wear and tear as an indicator

cheers

HH

The build number on dorche's profile could have been entered wrongly but it is strange that the colour is shown on the V5 as lightening yellow

i would change them bud

having been there when vocky has done chains on vxs that have done as little as 25k and as much as 100k the parts just get really worn, i guess they degrade over time etc

its not worth a new engine.. especially in a mint numbers matching ly ;)

i would also only use GM parts have seen engines die because inferior pats used in the past. some people say aftermarket chains are good, but they tend to be tight northerners

:P

If you are happy everything checks out then maybe it is a mistake on the register of build numbers due to the entry on dorches profile looking to be a strange sequence for the vin Apologies if I've caused any confusion, just trying to help!
