1080p/60 FOV narrow

If you mount on the harness bar enable spot metering otherwise the camera will expose for the inside of the car, making everything outside overexposed

If you mount near the windscreen consider investing in a polarizing filter to cut down on reflections

Also something I discovered first time out with the camera mounted on the windscreen is that the focussing gets confused by bug splats and tries to focus on them, making anything outside look a bit blurry  :o

Depends on where it's mounted and what you like.

Mine mounted on harness bar: 1080p/60fps, Spot Metering = On, Field of View = Narrow or Normal(despise fisheye videos from inside cars  ),

I don't use the Fisher Price clear case but mount mine in a skeleton frame thing for better sound but also usually use an external mic instead.

ETA: Can't remember if the Silver has image stabilisation or not. But if it does, I don't use it as stabilised videos always look a bit weird to me.

If the weather is a bit meh and the light isn't brilliant outside, it's worth trying stepping down to 1080p/30fps as that seems to have a better exposure. If light is normal or bright, 60fps is fine.

As Chris suggested, polarising filter is quite good to remove reflections and make the car and sky colours stand out a bit more.

Sound is pretty sh!t (especially in the standard case) whatever so I bought the official (in the absence of a cheapie Chinese clone) GoPro mic/charger/AV-out cable adaptor that allows you to use an external microphone and charge/power the camera from the car at the same time. Having wifi switched on absolutely mullers the battery life.
