It's really different to anything from S2 series and back. (have not paxed an enxige V6 yet)

The performance is very nice, and you can feel very healthy torque when you put your foot down.

Only in the corners i can feel the weight difference impacting the car. I am sure once pushed to the limits it can get closer to a vx.

Though you were not in full atatck, i think the lsd and TC will help giving much more confidence then i can do with my car.

The sound is awsome, but it will be a bit hindering you on tracks.

I would love one with a quiter exhaust

TC is certainly the key to maxing any car out in the corners. If the VX had it as OEM I'm sure there would still be a hell of a lot more of them on the road.

I agree, even driving my last Evora, you could tell the "brain" of the car was a generation ahead of the VX brain. So, advance another few years and now the ECU has Touring, Sport, Race, OFF for TC, each with their own levels of control. Things like Traction Control & ABS are just that little bit more intelligent, and whilst we moan about them taking away from the driving experience, they can be used to our advantage.

To be pedantic, the VX never had that 'brain'. The traction control is a bolt on Bosch unit which is entirely separate (in function and design, not packaging) to the ECU

Here is not the time and place, but whilst the second part of that sentence is sadly probably correct, the first part is entirely incorrect.

Surely you aren't saying that you can react faster and with more consistency than a computer that checks wheel slip 100+ times a sec and cuts the throttle/ignition in 1/50 of a second?

With all other things being equal (ie driver, approach line etc etc), being able to  plonk your right foot down as hard as you like and having traction at the limit round a corner will give you the best possible speed. It is simple physics, conservation of angular momentum and all that. Only in exceptional circumstances (i.e. good driver on a well known series of bends) could a driver knowingly exploit tail slide to promote faster cornering.

However, I fully understand that TC takes away a lot of the skill of driving and clearly for many races series that is why it is often not allowed - a telling sign of how effective it is.

Fifth Gear proved that a great driver with no aids is faster than one using TC (anything less than great driver will be slower). They did it in a GTR at Yas Marina and both Plato and Tiff were faster with all aids off.

The rational is that Electronics can only react where a driver can predict. The optimal slip angle for one corner might be very different to another and TC can't tell the difference.

I'm sure Tesla will come up with a solution to that in a few years.. :D

Actually, traction control was in Formula 1 until it was banned. Formula 1 has its fair schare of top drivers.

F1 is a different kettle of fish, the engineers will have worked out the optimal slip for every corner and tailored the tc system during testing.

If Plato was involved, it's bullshit.

Just saw this thread, what a lovely looking car. Love the colour, is similar to the Apollo blue on my Leon.

The thing about the Evora is they look so much better in the flesh.
