Ha, yes! The car is still down there. I am from that way and have family down there. I do the Goodwood day every year as its organised via a Nurburgring forum I've been on for years.
I'd tested the VSE on my iPhone app and it came out at 99 which would've been fine, but it's clearly as accurate as an election poll. The day wasn't a total waste though as I still have a Clio Cup that's kept at my Dads so I used that instead. I've only had the VX a few weeks so I've not got round to swapping the exhaust out yet. I'm assuming a Milltek is my best bet?
I've got a trip south to collect the car again next weekend. Martin, thanks for your offer, shame I didn't think to post before hand.

The day is organised by a guy from Billingshurst who preps a lot of track cars, small world! I pop over quite often, though I've wasted enough money on cars for now!and you came a long way!!My VSE was tested at 107db last weekend at Goodwood and I wasn't able to play
I'm on the look out for something a bit more sensible now.

Milltek is no longer an option for the 2.2 as they've stopped making them, unless you can find a secondhand one. There's negligible, if any, performance benefit so you might as well fit a standard NA exhaust (or a turbo backbox) which you can probably pick up for peanuts on here. If it hasn't been done already, whilst you're messing with the exhaust, might as well drill out the innards of the pre-cat and throw that in the bin.
