So I've replaced my cv boot and can't do the ball joint up. Any ideas? I'm really stuck here with the car in the air :(

Has it got a hole in it for an allen key? If so use an allen key and a spanner

Thank you, I can't see a hole. I resolved it by cleaning up the threads to make it turn easier. Phew, it's getting dark.

Impact gun - job done. You could try jacking under ball join to apply pressure. With everything bolted up of course DG

Thanks though, I did use the jack to attempt to put pressure on it. I need to Google what an impact gun is.

C clamp is another option if anyone searches this thread later.

That's a good idea. Is this normally a problem then? First ball joint I've split.

I bought one of these 3 weeks ago and its very good. Well made, powerful (will do most wheel bolts/nuts). Mind you I see they've put the price up by £30 since I bought mine.
