Remove your coil pack chances are it will be wet down the plug holes. Remove your plugs too to check for corrosion and wet. I would put some new plugs in personally then silicone grease the sealing area on the coil pack once it's immaculately clean. This stops any water getting in at a later date. Mine suffered with this but I've never had any issues since even after a good jet washing.

This will scan your car for codes and clear them for retesting http://www.ebay.co.u...725.m3641.l6368 Not sure on your specific problem without having codes to work with. What exactly happens when you try to start it?

Thanks for your suggestions guys.  Update......She lives!

Took the coil pack out, found an inch of water.  Had it trying in the house for a couple of nights, cleaned up the spark plugs and put some O-rings on.

The warning light has gone, and went for a brief drive, full power available.  Happy as larry.  Hopefully it doesn't come back.

I bought an OBD reader anyway, so I'll have a play with that, and might stand a better chance at diagnosing any future issues.
