I bought a raised boot lid which the seller said would fit a Turbo, but it didn't.

As you can see in the photo, the part where you are supposed to install the locking mechanism interferes with the bulkhead.

So in theory, would it be possible to chop that part off and make the boot lid fit, or are there other sections that will interfere as well? I know that the NA uses different hinges than the Turbo, so perhaps there will be some issues as well?

But if it's enough to simply chop off the lock mechanism section, then it would not be too difficult to move it a few centimeters to the rear and make the lid fit while maintaining the lock function.

You can swap the inner skins to make them fit, bit of work but it's doable :)

I think that will look quite good, be interesting to see it when you're finished.

I refer you to the, patent pending, MBES solution...

As this is a one off design, all moulds & plans being destroyed, it is obvs priceless. Drop me a pm if you want it, doesn't fit my NA, I'm going for a couple of button pins in each corner at the back.

OK, but I don't want to destroy the original lid :(

It moves the Red pin into position to close on to the catch on a turbo, allegedly!

That may, or may not, be a photo showing the catch on the lid

It seems like the outer skin is a generic (or Turbo) lid and then there's an inner 'skin' designed to fit the NA. So if I could carefully chop off the lock and move it then I might be able to use the lid after all?

Does anyone recognise this kind of lid? The french guy I bought it from said he bought it from England.

Also, what purpose does this hole (where red arrow points) serve?

And the rectangular section where that hole is located will protrude into the boot. What's the purpose of that one?

Damn, I just saw that the original lids also have that rectangular section.
