Okay guys, please do forgive me is this discussion already exists, I have tried the search function briefly.

If you had a grill with no badge and no V, i think the front looks a little lost.  And with the Tow eye on show, slightly naff.

I'd like to address this, and rather than tread new ground, maybe follow somebody else.  So does anybody here have a Badge with no 'V', and if so if you don't mind revealing how you did it.

I personally don't mind displaying a vauxhall logo on the front, you sure as hell can't put anything it isn't up there, and like i said, I think it looks lost without a badge.

Heres something inspiring I saw a little whiles ago  *swoon

Maybe even try with the new style Griffin which dosent look half bad, if you could get one small enough.

'Lost' I know what you mean.  I used to have just a badge with no 'v'.  I bought a VX wheel cap and used that by cutting the part that fits in to the wheel centre away and just stuck the base on with silicon adhesive.  If you want black just remove the Griffin, spray the base black and then re-apply same.  I also bought more and removed the Griffins from the cap and stuck them to cf discs that I'd had cut to fit my Europa wheel centres.  The wheel centres are however quite small, if you want a full size one then I suspect that is also available from Vauxhall.

Remove V from car

Posted Image

Cut out the badge plinth section

Posted Image

Block up gaps with something to support the filler

Posted Image

Patch up holes with GRP/filler/whatever and copious sanding

Posted Image

De-badged/de-badge-plinth'd original V with carbon vinyl wrap

Posted Image

And fitted to the car

And now, with a real carbon fibre V from http://www.ultimatecarbon.co.uk/

May I see a picture?  To get a feel for it.

Also, am I safe to assume the tow eye bracket can be turned as to not pertrude closeto/through the grill?

Looking good!

I want mine flush up against the grill like yours, but I'm anticipating a problem...

Posted Image

Did you have this problem and if so, how did you tackle it?

I can't remember but I may have cut the stub flush with the grill. I would never trust that bracket to tow the car anyway.
