So, latest calamity is the boot spring pin thing has worked loose and fell off when I opened the boot. Luckily I caught the pin, but the nut dropped in the engine bay and will be long gone. Anyone know which nut I need to buy?

Have you lost the metal plate with a M8 nut welded to it or the big nut the spring sits in ?
metal plate = part 32
spring nut = part 30

Ah thanks! Yep it's part 32 that fell out - might be buried somewhere in the engine bay. I was wondering how I would get a spanner in that gap...
