Looks like one of the kids in Halfords went crazy.

I looked seriously at an Exige back in September and have been keeping an eye on them since and not one of the Exiges in stock at B & C then, seem to have been sold since. there not exactly flying out of the salesrooms.

Pricing an Exige at anything above £45000-£50000 seems extreme to me when for similar money you can buy Caymans, M2's and a many other 'well built' cars that go stop and handle. I know theyre not the same thing but Lotus just seems to be losing the plot to me.

£50k is one thing.

How about £70k for a 380. Now that is mental. Especially when an Elise cup250 is £40k...

The Exige S is now looking almost decent value and I still think are the better car in most ways and as the new prices are just silly, the S model will now hold its value even better.

Stick a few thousand on for hangar 111 bits and a bit of geo and they'll pretty well match the 380 etc anyway

Agreed, if I had 40k to spend on a modern Lotus, I'd probably go cup250 Elise. More than capable on track and road.

The V6 (as in the engine) is quite nice though, takes everything up a level (including understeer )

Certainly more capable than your S1 Exige given it doesn't go on road or track. Ever.

Its just all getting a bit silly I and all this craziness is actually starting to make the Exiges priced at £45000 and up look good value (which they still aren't).

All you said was the exige wasnt good value at £45k. Still doesn't stop you buying if you can afford it though. 😂
