Hi folks - I've just bought VXR 57 from Jon Seal.

It was expensive but hopefully worth it? Thanks to Jon for some great service.

Its been too many years since I last did some karting and track days so I'll probably take it relatively easy next summer with some track days.

Im very fortunate to have a 996 turbo for the bad weather and its superb when its raining or snowy (not that we get snow in Essex).

I've had a couple of blasts with it now I'm the owner and wow! it really is raw compared to my 996. Raw but fabulously alive... I dont think the missus will be going on romantic weekends away in it with me though!

One question - can anyone recommend a specialist in East Anglia for servicing/repairs/tuning - I know theres Courtenay Sport in Norfolk but is there anyone nearer Essex?

The cars a keeper so hopefully see some of you around on my VXR trip.

Simon.

In case you were wondering - here it is!

Where abouts are you in Essex? Welcome....and I'm sure it'll snow tomorrow now

If Matt is too far, try RMS who are at Gallows Corner. They look after plenty of Loti.

If you're towards the east side, Hangar 111.

Thanks for all your kinds comments and welcome - I was a lurker here for some time so I know you guys are great.

HH - thanks for Matt Bentley Racing - I've checked the website and it looks like a good option for some track day setup.

Rob999 - I'm on the Suffolk border (Halstead) but I'm in London a lot so RMS might be an option - I've heard of Hangar 111 and they sound like a classy outfit.

I'm going to be pretty cautious about driving in the winter weather - I saw ghands thread on his crash - ouch!

Roll on next Spring though and I'll be there..

I've used H111 a few times. They are Lotus-focussed but they're good to deal with and certainly know their stuff. A lot easier to get to than Courtenay, that's for sure! You have a nice car - enjoy it :)

My second ever post, but for my Porsches I used Paul at PSR (near Bishops Stortford) - he does VXs and Lotus as well as Porsche. He can be a bit tricky to reach, however, but his work is first class. Will hopefully be sending my own VX (or maybe Elise) his way soon. Nice car btw!

One other place not too far from you is http://www.gstperformance.co.uk Never used them myself but they have a good rep in Lotus circles.

Another vote from me for PSR. Have used them for some years now. They know their way around a VX220.

Always better to call than email, by the way.

OP - Welcome to the gang. Good to have a VXR buzzing round Essex again.

Hi Simon, Welcome to the club man. Envious of your VXR - that's a sure fire investment for the future. I would also consider a drive to Derbyshire to see Liam at MMG. In my opinion - no one is more knowledgable, especially with VXR's. All the best, Jon

Thanks again guys - I'm still at the stage where I'm creeping out to the garage and just taking a peek at it!

Given how icy it is here at the moment Im not going to be driving it - at least until I've learnt how...
