Hi All,

Just took delivery today of my VX220 which was purchased from turboluca and shipped out from Wales.

Had a great experience dealing with him, even when he had to suffer through the wait of our import laws.

Constant communication across the months this has taken..

Vehicle is here now and will be a few weeks before I get here inspected and registered, just in time for our 40 degree summer to be in full effect.

Already had the right of passages in being upside down in the passenger footwell re-connecting the hood release cable, and the careful extraction of a headlight for a globe changeout.

Thanks again for a great forum where there is lots of knowledge available!

Also attached a photo of her big Australian distant cousin. She got her jump started when she was pushed off the truck. (Don't judge the color... she's a work car, so I don't get to pick the colour.... and at least it's not silver...  )

Cheers

Anthony

Thanks guys, Yeah 2 months total transit time. Long time to wait. Funnily my neighbor is called Shelia.... but she's from the UK.... no biscuit, though I hear it looks nice. Already had my two year old spill yoghurt all over the car while I turned my back for 30 seconds. :-)

Just went for my first run in the car post minor suspension fixes. 37 degrees here today. Interior sills were so hot from road heat load I could only just keep my hands on them. She handled the heat well, but hit the 106 thermo fan kick in a couple of times. I suspect full carpet is in the future! Lots of giggles.Car is deceptively quick and surprisingly more compliant ride than I expected. Can't wait to get her into some proper corners. Now to get her MOT done and properly on the road!

Mostly "Why did you buy a hairdressers car?" Which is the standard for any soft top here in oz.

Lotus are very rare here too. You commonly see mx5 tag tops amongst a smattering of Euro convertibles. Soft tops not really common due to the heat / UV mainly.

You can put a hardtop on, but without AC, it will not make life any better.

Yeah I know. Kicking off a little project trying to jam in an AC system. Or just only drive in mornings and evenings.

Yeah got a full vectra system from a breaker on the way for $120. I work with a hvac design engineer so we are going to see what we can salvage. Will probably need to get a custom evaporator made up. Probably should focus on getting car fully on the road first though!
