[Strugs]

Anyone fancy, or know anyone that fancies, a cheapy MX5? It's my dad's and is now 'surplus to requirements' as I bought him something else as a retirement present late last year..

 

Red, 1999/T, 1.8, 127k miles, new roof, MOT 'til April '17, cruise control (randomly..), aftermarket air induction kit and exhaust (not silly, just nice rasp), aftermarket 14" Fox Motorsport alloys (would pass for Rays if you squint at them..) with Firestone tyres all round with loads of tread, 3 owners. Overall in not too bad nick, but needs the 'standard' MX5 rust repair to the rear arches.

 

Price wise, I'm thinking £850 but observations on whether that's about right or not welcome!

Buying any older mx5 is a minefield. You wouldn't believe how much they rust. MK1 rear arches and rear of the sill and mk2 the same but also front chassis legs. Also don't buy a MK1 with the 90hp engine. There are some sh*t MK1 mx5s for sale!!!

I'd love to have one. Wish I could justify having it as well as the VX220 

 

Brings back good memories of my mk1 MX5.

 

Amazing fun for next to nothing money.

All being well, it departs with its new owner tomorrow as it happens! They are good fun to drive, but just not quick enough for me.. 😀
