I believe theres a few people on here that offer a supercharge conversion, ive been saving up this year to get a few things done, I know courtneys do a conversion, im after stage 1 or 2 fully fitted with ecu done ect plus timing chains and balancing chains doing, im in Dorset, so obviously if your in scotland its a bit far, if anyone can give me a guide price for me to work to and obviously where your based, thanks

Unless you're talking Dutch software, I didn't know you could get them with the ECU "done".

Thought the only option was taking it to the ever-helpful Courtenays for a remap, which for a Dorset chap will be a hell of a drive on a base map... and lots of odd people waiting to greet you, to boot.

Don't tell me Jon, Batman or Lee are offering that now? Would have saved me a whole heap of hurt.... just can't seem to shower the feeling of guilt and uncleanliness out...

Or ODB as it's incorrectly written on Jon's site

It's the attention to detail which counts the most in these conversions

Just to chip in here, I have seen Jon and Chris's work first hand and they look very OEM so the detail I can vouch for.

Plus they are top lads too !!

Mindful of how these threads have gone before I will be careful here, however it is hard to make them look non-OEM as the major components are designed to bolt together (they fit the US version of the Ecotec which was available supercharged).

The critical parts are often the detail you can't see, such as how the wiring loom has been modified. Any poor soldering/crimping or stretched will bite you in years to come when they start to corrode or pull at the connectors. That said, there have been countless supercharger conversions and I trust any of the usual characters on this forum to be able to do it properly. Ultimately it comes down to a function of cost and distance.

all our wiring is soldered properly, none of that twisting together malarkey, heat wrapped then wrapped in fabric tape/conduit, but i would expect anyone to do the same tbh.

I try to make sure things have custom brackets and every thing is secure etc where i can.. i have seen some shocking installs where charge cooler pipes have been left to rub on the chassis, wiring joints not properly joined and not covered etc.. and its things like that you really need to take extra care doing.

its one thing getting a conversion to "work" but to really make it nice you need to spend time on the details, like vocky quite rightly says.

Bingo. Point I was making. TBH the only time i've seen dodgy conversions is when people have done it themselves. Not saying they are all dodgy, just there's a lot to be said in letting someone else do it and knowing you'll get back a working car.

exactly my point Chris, regardless of who does the work it's the small details which make or break a conversion thumbsup

to be fair, it's usually the wiring looms and fuel pipes which are not at their best. Anybody can bolt on an OEM inlet manifold and supercharger and make it look complete  :P
