I really fancy KH this year, never done it before but would like to do a full day as it's a bit of a hike for me. Waiting for their TD calendar to be published.

I can't remember the last time Knockhill ran a full day trackday to be honest. LOT did one a few years ago but nothing in the calendar for this year.

 

SIDC days seem to be the best in terms of track etiquette and are well attended by ScottishElises.

 

You could do a morning SIDC and then spend the afternoon exploring some of our cracking roads!

I have a Caterham racecar which isn't road legal so I'm not sure exploring the roads towing a trailer would be much fun

My first track day in my VX220 has been booked with SIDC - 25th March at Knockhill.

 

What's the advice re wheels / tyres. Currently got the std. alloys with Bridgestones but fancy the track dynamics 16/17 combo but with what tyres?

I've done a couple of the SIDC days over the years. By far the best days as edp has said. No egos, unlike the hot hatch days. I used AD08 tyres at the time, great in the dry, not terrible in the wet. I live about 5 miles away from the track so will pop up and have a wander round the pit lane.

Ive currently got R1R Toyos on my TD 1.2s but will change to Avon ZZRs once I have killed them off. I believe Ronnie @ Wheelsaround at Knockers has excellent pricing for full sets. HTH

That's great @edp, thanks for that. I need to get the TD wheels sorted pretty quick. I'm assuming most people run 16/17.
