All credit to Courtenay they have said they supplied parts incompatible with the turbo I have and they cannot supply alternatives. They are sending a courier to collect the parts.

Getting ready for a day at Brands.
Flushed the brake fluid and replaced with race stuff. The front suspension and brakes will definitely need a refurb this winter along with the rear.

Finally got round to fitting the new dash face plates. (Thanks Joe)


Fitted this bad boy ready for the track, passengers is on the post.



And started to fix the head rests.

This thing is seriously clever with what it will do.

Car was intermittently getting hot the other day and the was sitting at 100 deg on the motorway at a constant 50mph.

Would appear to be the thermostat sticking closed.

My second engine happened to have an aftermarket low temp one so fingers crossed that solves the problem for Bedford in a few days.

 

You can see the unwanted wear marks on the faulty one at the bottom, replacement on at the top.

The cornering force setup wasn't to my liking so I have swapped for the tried and tested 1" elise parts front ARB, no rear ARB, still 2 way nitrons and slightly stiffer springs. Also removed all the shims on the front camber leaving only the ABS bracket in place. The tire wear was on the outside of the front tires now I am driving the car a little more enthusiastically.

 As it is the car is neutral bordering on oversteer, and more importantly its predictable and easy'ish to correct. Would like to try upping the poundage just to know the results.

Did you do snett on Wednesday? I was going too and decided the day before I couldn't face the early start.

My mate and his Mrs still went in a white Integra.

 

Heat will eat pads rapidly, add some cooling if you don't have any.

Went and met with Captain Vines, god he's fast. Thinking I need some cooling ducts of the fog lights. And possible additional cooling in the rear for the engine. Looking for the next day or next month.

Front 5" 425lb and rear 6" 475lb together with a 1" ARB in front, Is that what you have now? What tire sizes? Should be understeered? Br, Per

That's what I have for now with 205 on 16 front and 225 on 17 rear. Car is fairly neutral on track; definitely no understeer problems with track pressures in the dry.

Its been almost 10 months with the car off the road but we are getting it on a trailer tomorrow and off to Emerald friday for mapping.
