Guidance for inexperienced modifier. My friend will install everything on my drive with my assistance. What I have; Vauxhall vx220 turbo 03 80,000 miles. New cam belt with full service and engine mounts. Yet to buy; New vxr turbo 93169524 Courtenay sport enlarged plenum and hose http://www.courtenay...o/prod_465.html Autovaux z20let - leh turbo install kit http://www.autovaux....uxhall-opc.aspx In shed or installed; New calibra c20 let LUK clutch 623097200 New z20let LUK slave cyclinder Second hand 20,000 mile 2.5" full Milltek exhaust Second hand 'stage 3' MMG Intercooler Second hand blue vxr injectors Second hand pro alloy intake pipe Standard 70mm maf Standard airbox NGK 6418 spark plugs 1 x poly engine mount insert. No money for a charge cooler No money for a charge cooler. Was aiming for 260bhp and 270 lb/ft. I do not do track days but will do a couple eventually. I reckon the Intercooler is limiting factor... 1) Poly engine mount insert front or rear? 2) What actuator shall I get for turbo? 3) What can't I install without remap? 4) Where shall I get a remap?- I'm in Horsham West Sussex. 5) What is a blow off valve recirc etc etc I have no idea. What do I need if anything lol? 6) Where do I get exhaust gaskets for the milltek? 7) What have I missed!? Cheers!

At that power a HP fuel pump

Worth dropping the tank anyway to clean it out and inspect for rust.

yes you could be able to make the power but I expect the torque to be some what higher

Your biggest issue will be heat

You wont need to uprate the actuator as the VXR turbo comes with one that is adequate

You wont need a remap when you fit the turbo although it will need a map to get the best out of it

You will need a map if you install the injectors so dont fit them until you are at the garage getting ur map. Also if you change the MAF to 80mm at any point it will need a very small map tweak.

You wont need a fuel pump std ones running 300bhp all day long

BOV standard is crap upgrade to the CS Turbo smart

polyflex do both they are soo cheap

If you do uprate the actuator this Turbosmart one is nice . So much better built than the Vauxhall one. Avaliable from Courtenay Sport. The Recirc valve is worth doing to as the standard one is flimsy and can break.

I would get an 80mm MAF - the 70mm can fail on a modded VX turbo. 80mmm much more reliable.

Map - well Courtenays a are the most experienced with Vauxhalls but Sizeten  (TeamVX) on here has done a lot of good work on a map and it improves driveability as well as power. Matthew Bentley Racing can also map it for you. I have had a Courtenay Stage 4 for years but recently have got a Hybrid Matt Bentley/Sizeten one and it's the business in my opinion.

I had one poly insert done along time ago by Courtenay's and that was the rear. Done the other now too. TBH for the cost you may as well do both.

Be wary of using oily bush inserts all round. Mine now shakes its tits off - lots of vibration through the car... Mind you, the gear change has been greatly improved 😊

I think I'll just get one insert but still don't know front or rear. Looks like I'll keep standard fuel pump and keep vxr actuator and I'll add that BOV to my list. I can't install 80mm maf or injectors before getting to tuner and I'll messag the guys suggested about mapping... Thanks so much! Milltek gaskets?

I had a aluminium one off ebay (no more than £25), a forge copy. Works fine. Did a bypass on the front boost solenoid and vac box too. Some keep this in the loop, I found the car ran better without it. Less turbo flutter and dumping unnecessarily. Congrats on the new ownership!!

NGK 6418 , more commonly known as the BKR6EIX which are a good choice

you will not need the 80mm MAF , not without a chargecooler to safely cope with the extra airflow to justify one.

the sensors are same , so its no more reliable

give me a shout if you want a specialist VX map , it can be done at your premises , £500 for any power level and future upgrades for free.
