I have an old Schroth 6-point harness. FIA expiry date 2011. Lovely hardware and straps look ok. What do I do with it? Can't bear to bin it and putting up for sale seems not a good idea. Answers written on new fivers to me....

Sorry about pic quality, and that was before the Montagny 2010!

Sell it on eBay? Date is only for competition. Still good for trackday and fast road. It's not like people replace normal seatbelts every few years...

..think of those curry nights ..

..bolt it up in your small room for when you have the big blow out the next morning to ensure there is no lose of traction and you keep your delivery on the S bend.....

Not " Member of the Biological Engineering Society" perchance? Somehow I doubt it , but you never know.

Not fussed about price, just can't bear to chuck decent hardware and I need to clear out some harnesses. I haven't dared put up a pic of the black Willans, and anyway it's incomplete. Probably have a Blue Prima 6-point to get rid of as well, depends if I can test with out of date harness.

Tell me what you want to do with it and if yours is the best reason £20 + postage.

It would look rather nice in a red VXR, match the red alcantara, have seat cut out and the mounting points already. :)

Those expiry dates are a farce, that thing could stop an elephant in a 200 MPH crash. Just a date to force people into buying another for the company profits :(

GL selling it, it certainly would be a waste to bin it.

I've tested at a few places and they have never checked anything.

Looks like it has a home to go to, just making sure it will do the job required - Trackday use.

If it doesn't happen I'll post again.

Yes it is just the 1 harness.

That is a HANS-only belt though. The narrowed-down shoulder belts are the giveaway.

Can and should never be used without wearing a HANS system in a car.

Bye, Arno.

If nobody buys it then I'm interested :) Will be used for trackdays and I use HANS when racing so I will use HANS on trackdays too.

Arno -

You are quite correct, but for trackday use what would you rather - a 50mm Lap & Diagonal of a 50/75mm 4-point harness? I think I've cut up my 50mm 4-point harnesses from years ago, but they were standard.
