Hi All

I have done a search and found the pin data schematic but am struggling to make sense of it. The EML came on last week and threw a crankshaft position sensor fault. Ordered a new sensor and the EML still on. Checked earthing points and then the ECU plug. Noticed one of the pins (number 60 on the ECU) had snapped/was still in the slot 5 on the plug.

Please could someone decipher the pin data schematic and let me know what this pin serves? Are these replaceable?

Thanks very much

Wile

you will need a new ECU and a repair to the engine wiring loom - the pin in the ECU plug will need replacing

I have repaired this a few times on the z22se VX220 ecu

Thanks for the replies. Given neither is a moving part I'm baffled how these can just defect and snap.

has it corroded in the plug and then snapped free from the mainboard

you could solder a bridge wire to an unused pin , and rewire the plug to new pin

It had corroded, snapped free from the board and stuck in the loom. We've managed to remove the pin without damaging the loom (using a safety pin).

Just done some research on the forum and either as Vocky suggests or sending the ECU off for a repair or hadn't thought about the bridging wire option.

Which is likely to be the best?

I'd be carefully inspecting the wiring loom too. That looks like there has been a fair bit of water in the connector to cause that. We are at an age with the cars that the poor spec harness in the whole car will start to show its true colours :(

I have a spare Z20LET ECU for sale if you need it. However, it does not have the OEM map on it.
