With all parts missing, it will be over 7.

Look elsewhere.

The other red one he has looks less battered. Still would advise to bring someone who knows these cars for a sighting.

Haha i have my eye on a exige style roof and engine cover...I can paint cars myself so this doesn't bother me too much. 55k miles and a non cat car for that money. I think I'm going to take a look.

take a forum member with you and the buyer guide. get it up in the air ideally. the most important thing is the chassis and the mounting points for the suspension. Lots of things and wrongs can be fixed, missing parts can be sourced but the chassis can not be repaired or damaged.

an experienced member will be able to help you cost up anything that might need doing while you are there to help decide how good of a price that is or is not

To give you an example  - I,m working on one at the moment and without giving too much away the cheap tatty one will end up costing me 11k (be mint once done)

You really are better looking at one which has been cared for and has had all the common bits attended to.

Would love a sc but budget isn't quite there. Have put a deposit down on one of turbo timmys cars. If I fit into it I will run it for a year and then  upgrade to a SC :) Thanks for the offers :)

The horror stories of that seller aren't just confined to vx'ers! Avoid EDIT: to clarify that's the earlier seller you mentioned.

If you can't afford an 11k SC car I'm not sure how you are going to make one with a tatty 6k car that needs lots doing and the SC buying unless you intend to do it slowly as you save. Good luck either way, they are great cars if you have a sense of humour - I'm new to them and already developing a love hate relationship. All good fun.

I can afford a SC I just can't justify that sort of money without starting on something a bit slower.

I once refurbished a VW split screen camper van, when I bought the shell I sent it off to be acid dipped....What I got back weighed about as much and my mobile phone....I think my BBQ had more uncorroded metal... ...I'm looking forward to a project and can't wait to start working on these lovely looking cars. They appeal to me as they are very simple, they represent what a true sports car should be.
