Hello guys n girls

I am looking to get a vx220 shortly for track day service and occasional b road blasting.

I'm after one as I hit 30 earlier this year and haven't really owned a properly fast car in a while.

Plans are to get a tatty one, respray it something a little bit different and eventually supercharge it, although I'm unsure of the DIY cost of this.

I'm 6ft 5 tall though, so all of these plans could go out the window as soon as I've bought one hahaha

No problem with your height, i'm 6ft 5 and it's one of the only cars I find comfortable to drive, your legs are stretched out in front of you so it's a good driving position if you're tall. Only problem you'll have is you won't be able to wear a helmet with the roof on!

i am 6ft4, i fit OK.  I have tilted my seat a little further back by raising the front, and removed the headrest beind the seat which gave more headroom.  There is less headroom with the hardtop than with the soft top...  but i hardly have that on.  You will also be better off removing the rear view mirror as its blocks 20% of your view out of the front screen!

I'm only 6ft so can't comment on the potential height issue but if I can offer any reasonably local assistance (im in Trowbridge) then I'd be happy to help.  I would offer you a passenger ride but mines currently being put back together after a partial winter refresh.

it would be far better to buy a ready converted vx220sc than buy a NA and diy the conversion yourself. Budget £750 for Dutch ecu software and between £1200 and £2000 for the SC conversion parts - depending how good a conversion you want / how lucky good a bargain hunter you are

I think I'm going to get hold of a cheap NA and findout if I get on with the car before trading it for a SC like you say.

I am really concerned about fitting in a VX though, I'm an ex rugby player and generally and all round giant.

you'll be fine..no one is as fat  well built as IanRM or Steve Dubyah both of this parish....

..they both have to leave there cars away from their houses due to weight limits on the roads outside their houses...

an ex member called John and Big Steve once got in a VX220 at the same time to see if they fit. both over 6ft and larger then your average man...

there is photographic evidence somewhere
Anyway, they both fit, sort of.. that vx will never be the same again
