Going to get a new set for my first race. Currently have ZZRs. Our series is sponsored by Tokyo though so I get some (hopefully very good) discount. Should I go for the R888Rs then? I've never used the new ones, what pressures should I use on those, I use about 30psi hot on the ZZRs. The first time I'll use them is qualifying.

Need to talk to Chill as he's run both. I think he said the ultimate grip was slightly better on the R888Rs but they wear a lot quicker than the ZZRs.

888r are £520 on tyre leader at the minute. Given that ZZR are £700, if I can get 888r for the ballpark of £400. Will the ZZR be anywhere near £300 faster on track :/

depends on what price you put on time, if its a second a lap faster £300 is cheap for a second a lap, safer or less safe (unpredictable rear end break?)

Some say lack of control Lol R888R are good tire might be worth speaking to 5oclock as he said something about having them shaved Helps things They did only last a trackday at Anglesey and at croft On the way home from croft it rained heavy and the car turned in to a boat They were just on the makers when I got home (rears )

One other thing to mention I've done zandvoort and oulton on the zzr and I will be surprised if I don't get a 2/3 more track days out of the ZZRs and the road miles So they will Last at least twice as long as the r888r

If the 888r last half as long but are about half the price have better grip then I think my decision is made.
