Well after a long time I have finally got round to installing and testing my Meth injection on my VXT

Thanks to Steve (Crabash) for spec-in my kit and all his help.

Im not going into details about the bhp as its been on two different dyno in a week, both have different readings (20bhp difference between the two) and as I always said dyno readings are crap when it comes to power figures just good pub talk. I use a base reading then tuned from that to see what gains could be made but more importantly just set up the fueling for the meth and check those vital inlet temps

Running 50/50 meth with 2 jets on the lowest setting my inlet temp on Courtney dyno never went over 41C and today on a different dyno never got over 46C

Bear in mind that on the same dyno my was hitting 85C so what a massive drop in inlet temps,

So does it work?

Yes!

Is it worth it?

Yes, especially if you can fit it yourself as its fairly cost effective, If your an idiot like me you have to pay others which can work out expensive but hey its cheaper than a Charger Cooler which cost best part of £2.5k fitted

On the road?

Well, day one I couldn't hit more than 30C and today peaked at 36c! Again bear in mind my car normally hit 70-85C so very pleased.

Playing with the map we managed to gain 30bhp using the meth and apparently more can be had using a 80mm MAF

How quickly does the tank empty?

Well I could only fit a 3Litre tank in the boot, for normal road use I hardly used any, did about 6 hours driving mainly motorway and only used 1 litre or maybe less.

I must admit on the dyno today I used 2 litres, so on a full track day I expect to use 3-4 litres but again will depend on the size of your nozzles and rate you are pumping.

Oh and the fail safe with Aquamist defo works, I ran out of meth. The system told me and gave me no boost. So I just drove home like a granny, topped up and boom, 20PSI of boost was back :)

awesome results there :)

when you say you hit 70/85'c is that in this current temperature (below 10'c outside)?

70c in the winter and 85 in the summer on the road My inlet temps used to climb like mad. Last Jan in the winter (cold) it was hitting 85c on the dyno but air flow is always restricted in a dyno garage wth a large fan Same dyno today similar weathe too, in fact arguably warmer today.

Stage 3 MMG intercooler The car is stage 4 spec but meth used instead of the cc but the inlet readings show it's similar to cc temps but can use the additional octane from the meth.

I can guarantee you in real life they are no where near as good as a cc The recovery time from heat soak is better than standard though, suited for a standard or stage 1 vxt Anything else u need a cc or meth kit in my opinion

You mean hitting 70-85 just cruising around on the highway or spirited B-road fun?

I got 45C on a 19C day while cruising 120km/h.

dyno graphs think I binned them lol

I didnt really do much testing at CS but it left there with a figure and two days later in the same if not warmer conidtions it make 20bhp less. Just shows how different rollers have different calculations. Im not saying CS are over inflating but they were defo higher readings but dont want to get into rolling road battles. I must say CS were very professional and did a great job with the install, plus John was very useful/friendly

no crusing temp was ambient plus 10c or 15c but once you hit the throttle hard it just climbs in seconds from 25C to 70+ in just 2nd and 3rd gear

....and WI is not only cheaper....it seems to be lighter than a water - air charge cooler. Of course depending on the amount if water in the tank.

Looks good, did you have to move the tmap sensor because of the setup or was that already done?

Is this an off the shelf kit? IE can it be purchased in one or do you have to have a shopping list? Seriously interested in doing this...
