So the method for opening my bonnet involves hooking a claw hammer around the cable and pulling really hard. It's going to fail eventually. Firstly where do I get a new cable from? Is it from something else? I think the handle and bracket are pretty trashed, so looking for an alternate release method. Interested to see what others have done? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

If you are willing to figure it out, I am sure a motorised option could be cobbled together for relative peanuts^. ^especially in contrast to the extortionate prices that Vauxhall would charge for an original part.

I've just ordered a bonnet pull cable from GPS part number 90159584. Cost about £21. It looks like it comes as a complete assembly, plastic handle and cable. At least I'm hoping so. 😰

Hi Edt, It's all about the alignment. Useful to have two of you so that one pulls the handle whilst the other repositions the bracket until it opens freely. You will know when it's right by looking at the gap around the bonnet too. Make sure that you remove the bracket etc first, give it a real good clean and plenty of grease. Kind regards, Jon

I intend to put a T handle on a centre console I am designing, if that can be of any help!
