Even nitron know they are crap, but they still sell them as they have spent so much trying to develop them into a better shockBecause they suck?By the way if you send them back don't buy 46's

Heavens how the tune has changed in two or so years.
Once upon a time the consensus on here was that you could not beat Nitron.
Now Nitron are poor and different coloured springs and dampers cannot be beaten.
What will be the best to fit in 2 years time?
Not being funny, just thinking back. Paul

Think Nitron still has the best rep for build quality to be fair.

No, you need around 125-150lbs difference front to back, so 550-600 rears with your 450 fronts. (I peronally would run the 550's with 400~425 fronts.
(Not sure what Nitron is up to these days. I have an NTR46 set where Nitron was suposed to have installed new 550 rear springs for the Elise owner, but upon disassemly I discovered 700lbs written on them. With 375 fronts... )

So does this mean that the currently sold NTR 40 kit is still not right?

I have the possibility to choose any spring rate for the rears now. Are stiffer than 550 rear springs recommended together with the 450 fronts for track day use?No, you need around 125-150lbs difference front to back, so 550-600 rears with your 450 fronts. (I peronally would run the 550's with 400~425 fronts. (Not sure what Nitron is up to these days. I would take 600 rears with your current 450 front springs.
(For track day use, but maybe there are different thoughts here?)

150 difference rear/front seems to be a good starting point, so I take it from thereI would take 600 rears with your current 450 front springs. (For track day use, but maybe there are different thoughts here?)
