By the way if you send them back don't buy 46's

Because they suck? :)
Even nitron know they are crap, but they still sell them as they have spent so much trying to develop them into a better shock

I wonder what the differences between the S2 and VX dampers are, if any? The damping characteristics? Damper length? If there is no difference, why not go for S2 shocks which are cheaper and come with helpers?

Well, Nitron offered to send me new rear springs and helpers if I help them to measure the achievable ride height. So hopefully future buyers will get helpers included with the kit :) Not sure why they want to replace the rear springs and not only add helpers though. They won't do anything with the fronts because they find the 15mm lower ride height the kit offers to be acceptable. Perhaps that's arguable but in my case it's OK since I didn't plan to go lower.

Heavens how the tune has changed in two or so years.

Once upon a time the consensus on here was that you could not beat Nitron.

Now Nitron are poor and different coloured springs and dampers cannot be beaten.

What will be the best to fit in 2 years time?

Not being funny, just thinking back. Paul

Think Nitron still has the best rep for build quality to be fair.

In the world of aspirational accessories it could be argued that build quality is the only parameter worth testing Paul

Mine were a month out of warranty, failed and no good will. Cost me 240 to get two of them refurbed. Ace 👍

So I received new rear springs and helpers. The spring rate of the new ones is 475 whereas the old ones were 550. I originally ordered "track day" rates and have 450 in the front. Is 475 with helpers (150) the correct ones for "track day" rates? Nitron state that for the Elise the rears are 600, with 450 in the front, and the Elise is much lighter than the VXT.

No, you need around 125-150lbs difference front to back, so 550-600 rears with your 450 fronts. (I peronally would run the 550's with 400~425 fronts.

(Not sure what Nitron is up to these days. I have an NTR46 set where Nitron was suposed to have installed new 550 rear springs for the Elise owner, but upon disassemly I discovered 700lbs written on them. With 375 fronts... )

So does this mean that the currently sold NTR 40 kit is still not right?

I have the possibility to choose any spring rate for the rears now. Are stiffer than 550 rear springs recommended together with the 450 fronts for track day use?

I would take 600 rears with your current 450 front springs.

(For track day use, but maybe there are different thoughts here?)

150 difference rear/front seems to be a good starting point, so I take it from there :)
