Just got my first VX220 from Turbo luca. It was an absolutely brilliant purchase, the man should open a garage and sell all manner of cars, he was so helpful through the whole process. Cannot sing his praises enough. It was really refreshing to deal with someone like him.

My bro picked it up and brought it back from Wales, now we're busy scheming plans!

I have managed to pick up a lotus exige style hardtop roof and engine cover. Going to take the clams and bodywork off this weekend and spray the whole thing matte black. Always wanted a matte black car, so now's my chance. I've done lots of BMWs (A v8 conversion and an M3) and VWs (Split screens, caddy pickups and a corrado VR6) But nothing I have ever driven handles like this thing...Literally a go kart for the road!

I was a little worried that I wouldn't fit in it (6ft 6in tall 125kg) but fit like a glove....WIll need to do something about the gear shift as it gets a little in the way in 5th though, and turbo luca said about the roll bar mod so will look at that to get the seats back another inch.

Car is a little tatty atm, but that doesn't matter to me....Will be starting the prep work this weekend and hope to have the car on the road for spring.

Not too keen on the standard wheels so will most likely replace these. Have my eye on a set of 18" BBS CH's having seen this photo years ago.

Think they will be 5x112 so may need wobble bolts, or I may get the 4x100 hubs from an elise and go down that route....Lot's of VW wheels in 4x100. I have too many in my shed......

Is there a minimum size wheel for the VX? Loads of lovely wheels in a 15" (ATS Cups, BBS RS, BBS RM)

Love this colour wheel against matte black as well.....

Have so many questions, but love to just get stuck in with a good project....Just CAN'T WAIT for a sunny day!!!

So...Watch this space!

Why dont you wrap it instead of painting it matt black and remove it when you ultimately sell it. Resale will be easier if its a std colour.

:tt: Big guy, you. 6ft 6inch is about 2 meter? Had a friend like you (bodybuilder) and it was funny to see him in my car. It was hilarious when we stopped @ the gym with the speedster. We were pressed against eachother in the car,...

good luck with the vx!

Going to supercharge it as soon as I'm used to the handling.
