Hello there and if anyone is reading this and has some experience with vx220 running problems, associated with the engine warning light (orange with the lighting bolt), I would be grateful for your help.

The car is Y reg, 8000 on the clock with a full service history and I have had it just a few months.  During this time it has run very well however, recently it has decided to cause me some minor problems.  For example, It starts up lovely and off we go but within a few miles, the engine revs drop down to 1500 rpm and I lose all accelerating capabilities.  I am forced to pull over and then go through a number of engine restarts until (usually 5 mins) it decides to return to normal (but the orange engine light with lighting bolt stays on) however, the car drives as it should - very goodly.

If anyone has any helpful information or advice, I would be very grateful :)

Being a Newby and still very pleased with my recent purchase, (Dec 16), I suspect I will be on this site quite often so as to build up my knowledge on what is so far been, a very fun pastime.  Roll on the Summer, so I can get me roof off for a few spins around the New Forest!

Bye for now.

Talos.

First thing to do is read that code. eBay list lots of cheap OBD2 code readers and there's a socket to connect up under the dash on the passenger side. Read the code and go from there before you start spending money on parts and labour.

Is this the silver one from the Honda dealership? If so these issues were pre existing. The original owner is on here I might be able to dig his contact details out if I can remember his name.

Guy he sold it to said he also had hot running/starting issues. Was chopped in for an NSX I believe.
